Well, it's that time again...time to post pictures of Ty at Camp Barakel (click on picture to enlarge). Looking at all the fun and games, you might think that's his motivation to be a camp counselor. Granted, it's in Ty's make-up to love all the outdoor physical activity, but there's another motivation involved...serving the Lord by ministering the gospel to the campers. One night last week, Ty shared with the junior campers (4th - 6th grade) about Jesus' agonizing suffering on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of believers, not always sure how much is sinking into those skulls full of mush (as Rush would say). The next day, one of his campers was accidentally snagged with the hook of a lure by another camper, and the hook went about a half inch into his arm. Obviously, the boy was in intense pain...crying and screaming. As they were working to dislodge the hook, all of a sudden, the boy stated, "But this isn't as much pain as Jesus went through for me." Ty would appreciate your prayers throughout the summer for all the counselors and campers...that God would work in all their lives to His honor and glory.
And if case you can't find Ty in the costume picture, he's one of the "blonds." ;)
Wow, that's really neat. Sometimes things we say have more effect than we know- the good and the bad. I'll be more careful!
