AT HOME

There's something about being at home and knowing you can't go anywhere that is a little unsettling. Our Odyssey is having routine maintenance done today, so I have no transportation. In an attempt to alleviate the feelings of strandedness, I decided to do a much-needed project - paint the bathroom ceiling. When I went to buy the paint a couple days ago, I was quite surprised at what I found. First came color-changing Crayola markers and Kool-Aid, but now you can buy ceiling paint that goes on violet and changes to white as it dries. Of course the practical reasoning for this is to be able to see exactly where you have painted. My curiosity prompted me to buy this paint and give it a try, even if I had to pay about $4.00 more for the gallon. I just finished the first coat, and it is pretty cool to watch the transformation. I say anything that can make painting fun (?) is worth it!

I've told some of you about Ashlea's participation in Read With Us, an outreach ministry of her church to the children in the neighborhood. Christina has posted some pictures from last night, and Ashlea is in a couple pictures...just look for the bright hair. *sigh* I guess I should be thankful it's not black!
