Dutch Brownies

Joel and I were delighted to have family members visit us in our new home on Sunday afternoon.  I was thankful that we had the kitchen functional, so I could prepare some Broccoli Cheese Soup and Dutch Brownies for an easy evening meal.  A friend recently gave me this brownie recipe, and, oh, is it ever good!  I'm a big fan of almond extract, and this cake-like brownie really delivers on flavor! 

Dutch Brownies

4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
2 t. almond extract

Mix ingredients and pour into a greased 9 x 13 pan.  Sprinkle with slivered or sliced almonds and sugar.  Bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
