Camp Fun

Tyler left for camp in such a hurry Thursday morning that he forgot a few essential items. Joel and I decided a short trip up to Barakel would be a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We left directly after worship and arrived just in time to get in the cafeteria line. After lunch, Ty took us over to the camp garages so we could see the old Cadillac that is used as a high school camp prop of some sort every year. This year, Ty and his friend Kent have the responsibility of transforming it into a "presidential limousine" for the Barakel presidential election theme. I don't know how many coats of paint this bomb has, but it's getting a new coat of black...and it will have a "presidential seal" on the hood. Since its battery was dead, the guys had to push the car out of the garage and jump the battery. We also noticed it was leaking radiator fluid. Once they got the engine roaring, we were ready to roll, and they took us on a spin around the campgrounds. Beside the fact that the car had no shocks, and Kent couldn't get the windshield wipers to stop wiping, it was a pleasant little excursion. I've never been chauffeured around in a convertible before...especially one that was made with the use of torch! There's no denying this car qualifies as a hoopdee!
