Christmas Ramblings

The Christmas excitement is definitely building. I spent most of today just doing Christmas fun stuff...not much house work. Marilyn, Cathy, and I got together at Cathy's house to make Christmas cards, gift tags, ornaments, etc. It's so nice to go there because she has practically as much scrapbooking/stamping inventory as a small retail store. Not only that, she's full of creative ideas to help creativity-challenged people like me make something beautiful. Thanks again, Cathy! We also enjoyed a nice lunch together at the Really Darn Good Food restaurant in downtown Bay City, and we couldn't leave there without buying a few fancy desserts for the road.

I also wrapped a lot of Christmas presents, and as I was wrapping, I was thinking about how ornery I was as a child when it came to Christmas. (My family would say that was a year-round condition, but don't believe them.)
I just know that whenever I heard the song "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," I was worried by the line "he knows if you've been good or bad," but not enough to "be good for goodness sake." I was a present peeker, and a pretty good one at that. I could unwrap and re-wrap gifts without too much noticeable evidence, and I usually chose to do my snooping long before sunrise. This went on for several years. I even got to the point where I wasn't satisfied peeking at my own presents; I also opened a few of my sister's presents to see what she was getting...comparison peeking. I eventually outgrew this activity when I realized it really is more fun to be surprised on Christmas. I don't think I passed this trait on to either Ashlea or Tyler; unless, they have their own confessions to make.

Check out this link. Merry Christmas and Enjoy!
