The temptation to ignore the project was strong, but we held true to our commitment to begin painting the basement today. I say begin because, as we got started, we soon realized this is going to be a long arduous process. Because the walls are cinderblock (I'll NEVER understand the thinking behind that), moisture seeped through some areas, so we have to do a lot of scraping first, then use DryLok before we paint. What timing too, with Joel putting in extra hours to prepare for sugar production. I think we're done for today, since Joel and I have an anniversary party to attend this afternoon, and Tyler is meeting some friends for a round of golf. It will be nice to have some leisure on Labor Day after all.
