A Good Day

Today we held our monthly auxiliary luncheon and program at the mission. That means Katherine (the auxiliary president) and I hit the door running to get dining room and gift shop sale room set up by 11:30. I always enjoy auxiliary days even though they are a lot of work. The programs are usually such a blessing. The singer/guitarist we had today made me realize that country gospel music is more than tolerable if done well. He really ministered to our group through song, beginning with his rendition of "Blessed Assurance", followed by several other good selections.

Joel and I met Mark and Judi at Gatsby's for dinner. It's always good to catch up with them and know we are faithful to keep each other in prayer through the difficult times of our lives.

Yes, this has been a good day, but it would be a great day if we could talk to Ashlea! She is in Mississippi with a group from her church doing hurricane clean-up. We haven't been able to talk to her since Sunday morning, and I guess I'm having "Ashlea withdrawal." It will be great to connect with her again...whenever.

  1. Well, we did hear from Ashlea last night - sort of. We were awakened at 11:15 p.m. by the beeping sound of an incoming text message. At least we know she is okay and she's excited about what the group is doing. Looking forward to Friday!
