But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). Ephesians 2:4-5

Letting Our Light Shine
As Christians, we just never know when the world is watching. We're not always aware of when we are light in the darkness. A group of us ladies from the rescue mission went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant today, and we apparently made an impression on a gentleman sitting at the next table. Before he left the restaurant, the man came over and said that he couldn't help but overhear our conversation, and he picked up on our "positive energy." He wanted to know where a group with this type of "positive energy" worked. Sharmin, our outspoken "evangelist" told him that the "positive energy" was the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives and that we work at the rescue mission. She then asked him if he had a church home. The man responded that he has visited many churches and he sees value in all religions. Regrettably, we didn't get to share the gospel, but we pray that a spiritual seed was planted in this man's life, so that he will one day come to know that "there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name [than Jesus] under heaven, given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
