Tyler called last night to tell me that one of my birthday presents would be on the porch when we arrived home from the Mannheim Steamroller concert. He also said he wanted me to open this gift right away, even though my birthday is next week. I've never been patient with present openings, so I told him I would oblige, although I was a little curious about his motivation.
Sure enough, there was a big box on the porch with Paula Deen Store packing tape all over it. My heart jumped for joy! I quickly unwrapped the present and found this hand-thrown pottery batter bowl - absolutely lovely!
This will be so handy for the Christmas cookies I plan to make this weekend. Then the light bulbs starting coming on...early birthday present...open immediately...batter bowl...cookie baking...time to send cookies to hungry son who won't be home for Christmas.
Yeah, there is a reason we've always called Ty "the angler." He takes after his mother.
P. S. I just found the card inside the box; it reads: "Happy birthday Mom! I hope you will put this to good use. I love you. Tyler"
I rest my case.
