Thanksgiving - Part One

It's 6:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, and I've been awake for about three hours. It's craziness I know, but I'm not alone. Shortly after I got up, I heard my phone go beep, beep, beep. A text message just arrived! Who else has a daughter who would send a "Happy Thanksgiving" message at 4:15 a.m.? And how many people would be up at that time to receive it? She also sent one to Joel's phone, which caused him to get out of bed. But that was okay, because he's an early riser, too. We're just hoping Ashlea didn't send one to Tyler. That might cause his Thanksgiving to begin not so happy. ;)

So much for Black Friday...I just got home from participating in Black Thursday! It was black when I left, and it was black when I got home! Meijer advertised Cricut die cut cartridges (for scrapbooking, etc.) at a huge discount as part of their 6:00 a.m. doorbuster sales. Joel and I actually went out the other evening just to scope out their selection, and I determined which two I wanted to buy. I envisioned crowds of women making their way to Meijer at this ridiculous hour in the same pursuit. I thought I might even have to use brute force to get to MY cartridges. When I arrived at Meijer at 5:15 a.m., the parking lot was almost full, and I panicked. I hurried into the store and headed toward the Cricut display, and I noticed hordes of people in that general area. As I maneuvered through the crowd, I realized the masses were NOT surrounding the Cricut display. They were there for the televisions and ipods! No elbowing, grabbing, or body blocking was necessary after all.

Sometimes, I can be so delusional!
