Simple Pleasures

Two summers ago while visiting my mom in Kansas, we took a walk through a nearby park, and they had the most unusual plants along the borders of the flower beds, plants with little peppers in an array of colors...green, yellow, orange, red, purple, and variegated. I found out they were ornamental pepper plants, and not for consumption. When I got back to Michigan, I called around to several greenhouses, but no one had heard of them. So when we walked into Sam's Club and saw a large table filled with red, orange and yellow ornamental peppers, I was elated! They didn't have my favorite purple, so I chose the red...wondering if the new peppers will go through color transition as they grow. My challenge will be to keep the plant alive long enough to find out. ;)

On an unrelated topic: In case any of you locals are interested, the Saginaw Rescue Mission is having its annual open house Sunday afternoon (10/26) from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. We're located at the corner of Burt and E. Genesee in downtown Saginaw.
