Jeannette, Don't even have a twinge of guilt for chopping off the ends of their little toe-sies. I had a long talk with Wilbur before his procedures and we agreed it was an even exchange for treating him as elevated royalty the rest of his life. He has really not forgotten and displays our signed agreement above his litter box for my continual memory enhancement :- ) Roxie
Actually, the question of having any guilt over the matter was settled by my hair stylist. When I expressed some apprehension about subjecting the little darlings to the painful procedure, she quickly replied, "Don't feel guilty. Life is full of painful procedures...we circumcise our sons, don't we?" (You'd have to know her.)
You're so kind to elevate Wilbur to that status. Phoebe elevated herself to "royalty" from day one. I'm just thankful our paper shredder is in the basement, where there are no curtains. ;)
