What a wonderful weekend! It had been quite a few years since I got to spend Mother's Day with both Ashlea and Tyler. It wasn't long after we arrived in Louisville Friday afternoon, that they thrust a card in my hand, instructing me to open it immediately. With eager eyes upon me, I read the lovely card, and then read aloud the verse Ashlea added at the bottom:
"Before you now, two choices lay,
One for the pot and one for the cafe';
Which is your destiny, you must decide;
Choose in wisdom, but choose in haste,
Or the night will wane and be a waste."
Enclosed in the card were two menus, one from The Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant), and the other from Coco's Chocolate Cafe. My dilemma was choosing one over the other. I settled on The Melting Pot, and the reservations were made for later that evening. The restaurant offers about ten dessert fondue sauces; we selected Bananas Foster (wouldn't you know) and Cookies 'n Cream Marshmallow Dream. Joel and I had to call it quits before the dippers ran out (three trays full), so Ashlea and Tyler took the remaining cheesecake, mashed it into the chocolate sauce, and cleaned the pot. Fun times!
What a great Mother's Day idea! I think you chose the right restaurant. How fun! I'm hungry now just looking at those pictures.
ReplyDeleteAfter we left The Melting Pot, we met a group of Ashlea's friends at Coco's. I didn't have any dessert there, but Ashlea finished off a cup of rich drinking chocolate that her friend couldn't finish. And I thought I was the chocoholic!!
