But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). Ephesians 2:4-5

Ty's Visit
Tyler made an unexpected trip home today from Camp Barakel, and it was really good to spend some time with him this afternoon. The first thing he wanted to do (after he had lunch) was to go get a supply of snacks to take back. Then he requested a home cooked meal. I broke the news to him that I had dinner plans with friends this evening (long pause just to see his expression), but I would cook dinner for him and his dad anyway. I think he would have eaten just about anything that was home cooked...maybe I should have served eggplant. ;) It was good to hear about his experiences as a counselor and lifeguard thus far. His prayer request is that the campers would see the light of Christ through him. My praise is that the college staff members are going through the same book that I suggested he read and that I am using for the summer Bible study...Humility: True Greatness by C. J. Mahaney. When Ty told me he really appreciates the teaching, like any good mom I responded with, "I told you so."
