But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). Ephesians 2:4-5

It's Time
Each spring I anxiously await the blooms of my Lily of the Valley plants. A friend gave me a few starts a number of years ago, and now I have a lush ground cover of the most fragrant flowers of all time, in my opinion. : ) I marvel at the delicate bell-shaped flowers nestled safely in the foliage. My plants are really multiplying, so if any of you readers in the vicinity would like some, just let me know. I'd love to share their beauty!

Hi Jeannette,
ReplyDeleteI have a large clump of them too. I agree, the aroma they give is wonderful, and the delicate blooms never fail to amaze me. I have some on my kitchen windowsill in a vase right now.
Susan Stephens had some on her dining table last week as they were having company from Russia. The Russians informed them that the Lily of the Valley plant is very rare in their part of Russia, and is never to be picked! If you DO have any in your house, it is because of a VERY special occasion!
Just a little tid bit for you...
Marilyn
Special occasion or not, these flowers are coming inside! I even took a small vase of them to work yesterday so others could enjoy the fragrance.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing...I found a cologne that smells just like Lily of the Valley - Jean Von Furstenberg's Forest Lily. I got a bottle in the mission's gift shop for a very nominal price...all the better!
