Outside of my job, my week has been consumed with painting the kitchen, so I'm very happy we're just about done with that project. We just have to do a few touch-ups and get the molding painted and attached. The greenish-teal color is rather bold at first glance, but the soft white beadboard provides a nice balance. I'm using purplish/cobalt blue accent pieces - it's very striking! Only one "mishap" to report: because I had a meeting Tuesday night, Ty offered his and his dad's help that evening. Now Joel abhors painting, so I didn't know how that was really going to pan out. When I got home and asked how things were going, Ty said, "depends on who you ask," while Joel glared at me and reiterated his disdain for painting. Uh-oh. I came to find out that after Ty stirred the white paint, he didn't secure the lid on the can. Not knowing the paint was already stirred, Joel picked up the can to shake it, and paint went "everywhere"...so I was told. I'm almost sorry I missed it.
This evening Joel and I made our second trip of the season to Mama Lupos...still no banana ice cream, though they did have chocolate banana (why bother) and banana split (my choice). I'm a purist, and I just want plain ol' banana...is that too much to ask? In the fifteen minutes or so we were there enjoying our cones, there had to be well over thirty people come in, so I'd say they're doing good business in Essexville. And it's not even summer yet!
Plain 'ol banana IS evidently too much to ask. One other thing: banana split, plain 'ol banana. Banana split, plain 'ol banana

Banana split ice cream has strawberry and chocolate swirled in it, and it has nuts. I know, I'm weird.
