It's Volunteer Appreciation Week!

Katherine and I had the pleasure of attending the annual Saginaw Community Volunteer Awards Luncheon today at the Horizons Conference Center. I submitted her nomination as a City Rescue Mission volunteer for the senior level volunteer of the year. Unfortunately, Katherine and several others were "beat out" by a man who oversees the care of a beautiful community rose garden. Go figure. Katherine had a good attitude, and said, "Well, he's retiring this year...and I'm not!" Horizons provided wonderful fare as usual, and Katherine won a table centerpiece, so that was an extra blessing for her.

Next Tuesday, I'm having my annual volunteer appreciation event at the Castle Museum. It should be a great time for us... and you can be sure I'll post pictures! ; )
