While scrapbooking tonight, Marilyn and I got into a discussion about a few of the concerts we have seen, so I compiled this list of groups/artists I have seen live. It definitely reflects my diverse music interests through the years (I guess I can't hide the fact that I had a brief period of country music enjoyment - what was I thinking?!). I am not a frequent concert attender by any means, but here is my list in somewhat of a chronological order:
The Doobie Brothers
Foreigner
Billy Joel
The Grass Roots
Imperials (twice)
Amy Grant (during her very early years)
David Meece
Wayne Watson (twice)
Dallas Holm
Steven Curtis Chapman (his inaugural "For The Sake Of The Call" tour - his music hasn't been the same since)
White Heart
4 Him (three times)
Phil Keaggy
Anne Murray
Statler Brothers
Alabama
Oak Ridge Boys
Newsboys :)
Supertones
Avalon
FFH
Paul Coleman Trio
Go Fish
Steve Green
Jars of Clay :)
Chris Rice
Sarah Groves
"Behold the Lamb" with Andrew Peterson, Derek Webb, Sandra McCracken, et al
Those I wish I had seen: Petra, Rich Mullins, and Steve Camp
Newsboys!!! The tour where the drummer was in a big rotating cage and he was strapped down for when he went upsidedown?
ReplyDeletePetra!! Saw them at Worlds of Fun.
Whiteheart was our most times attended concert. Can't even remember. Audio Adreneline! Marty was on stage with them:)
Ditto Rich Mullins and Steve Camp.

Newsboys - yes, that concert - "Step Up To The Microphone" (second row seats). And I do remember Marty's Christian rock star wanna-be days. I'm still sorry we missed that concert.
ReplyDeleteJeannette,
ReplyDeleteDid you know "What Was I Thinking" is a current country song sung by Dierks Bentley? At least, that is what David says... I wouldn't know...
Marilyn
Never heard of that song, or Dierks Bentley for that matter. I've been (thankfully) out of the country music loop since the mid-80s.
