It was good to get the phone call from Ashlea this morning letting us know that she made it to Washington D.C. around 1:30 a.m. She and Gabi have many "adventures" planned for this weekend, and Ashlea is looking forward to visiting Capitol Hill Baptist Church (her former church) tomorrow. I think she might make a jaunt out to Patrick Henry College on Monday to see a few other friends, then she'll return to Louisville on Tuesday. Her classes start on the 29th.
Tyler starts his new job Monday at the Midland Community Center. He'll be working part-time as a lifeguard...tough job, but somebody has to do it, right? He gave me quite a start this morning when, without any warning, he tested his whistle with all the breath he could muster. It didn't even occur to him that he probably took five years off my life.
Joel is just plugging along at work. They still have about two more months of processing, so he's hoping the machinery will hold up that long. They are also seeing a deterioration in the quality of the sugar beets, which is not surprising considering the mild weather we had until this week.
The dynamics of the our office will drastically change Monday when the new member of the development staff begins his job. We're going to have a young man occupying one of the cubicles in our office, and that ought to be veeerrrry interesting. We've already been discussing how our female office banter is going to have to change. As Marcia said, we'll no longer be able to discuss such topics as whether our husbands wear boxers or tighty whiteys. Yep, it's going to different, all right.
