Meet Asfaloth...

Ashlea's "new" vehicle named after the white horse of Glorfindel. We spent most of yesterday combing the mid-Michigan countryside looking for a quality foreign car and ended up in Lansing where we found this 2000 Subaru Outback. It was love at first sight, so to speak. We just pray it won't be a lemon as was the Saturn.

I am teased mercilessly at work because of our family's vehicle woes, so when the executive director heard at lunch today that we bought another car, he automatically assumed we lost another vehicle to a wreck. When I explained that Ashlea's car just died, he asked, "Are you sure it didn't commit suicide?" Haha! But the jokes continued...Robin asked if the Subaru shed tears as it was driven from the car dealership, as in "why me?" And no, our local reputation is not the reason we had to travel all the way to Lansing to find a car. I reiterated that maybe our family should have been Amish, and Karen blurted out, "But the poor horses!" As Marcia asked me recently, where is the love?
