You Just Never Know...

when knowledge of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice will come in handy. Tyler called me at work this afternoon to tell me that he had the most interesting micro-economics class ever. I responded by reminding him that today was his first class, then asked him to explain. His professor had the class watch segments of the A & E version of Pride and Prejudice, then break into small groups to discuss the economic factors of the story, such as the Bennet's estate being entailed away from the female line. Ty thought he was the only person in the class to have seen the mini-series more than once, and even confessed to the others that he had seen it at least ten times. During the small group discussion, the professor walked over to Ty and asked him to limit his comments to critiquing the others in his group, because he was bringing too much information to the discussion. Ty, the Pride and Prejudice "expert"...you gotta love it!

The picture is of Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet.
