Each September, Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan holds their annual banquets to promote the ministry in the Tri-City area. Last night's banquet was held at the Double Tree in Bay City with about 350 in attendance. Joel and I were there as guests, but tonight I will be working the Saginaw banquet at the Horizon's Conference Center with about 600 people expected. Wonderful banquet fare two nights in a row is hard on a person, especially when it comes to desserts. But I'm not complaining! Dave Boyer, a gospel big band singer, gave his testimony and provided special music. He was known by Joey Stevens (sp?) when he sang with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, et al years ago. The Lord saved him out of a mob-controlled life in the 1970s, and he has been using his talent for the Lord since. Two mission clients also gave testimonies of how the Lord saved them from drug-addictions and made them new creatures in Christ. We pray for the Lord's direction and provision as we continue to minister to the homeless in the area.
Good picture! When I first saw it I thought you were going to put the whole table pictures you took. Whew what a relief! The dinner was delicious!!! Dave Boyer really can hold the last notes a long time! I was envious!
ReplyDeleteTrust Tuesday night will be another blessing! Love, Judi
Judi, my intent was to put all the pictures on my blog, but one was blurry - guess who's. ;) Maybe we can try again Saturday night. Oh, general consensus was that Monday night was better overall.
