It's already the end of September, so what does that mean to me? I only have two more weeks of driving to and from work via Northwood University. Yea! I have been trying to focus on the positives, those being the one-on-one time with Ty (whether he likes it or not) and seeing the radiant fall colors around Midland. I've also seen some fantastic sunrises on the early morning trips. And I've rather enjoyed driving the Civic, loud muffler and all, so I guess it hasn't really been too unbearable.
Speaking of Tyler, he announced to us over dinner Wednesday night that he's thinking about getting a tattoo. My immediate deadpan response was, "You know you'll go to hell." My really bad theology only brought laughter. Ty explained that he wants to get a band tattoo around his upper arm with elfin writing, similar to Lord of the Rings, and I repeated, "You know you'll go to hell." So yesterday, Ty was working on his tattoo design on the computer (even downloaded elfin font), and I noticed he had his Bible open. He told me he was translating part of Romans 12:1, "to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God." A Bible verse tattoo, huh... well maybe he'll only go to purgatory. (more really bad theology)
Ashlea has been busy planning her 22nd birthday party. She's having it on the 6th (a week early) because she wants to be able to focus on her Greek mid-term the following week. Good girl. We went over her lists the other day, and she seems to have everything under control...almost. She and a group from her church are leaving in the morning to go back to Mississippi for several days to do more hurricane clean-up. During their trip in April, Ashlea learned how to put up sheet-rock, so I wonder what skill she'll learn this time... wiring, perhaps?
Joel's plant has broken three daily and a weekly production record this week. Their plant is operating so much better than the other three, so kudos to the guys in Caro! They have been doing little things this week to celebrate their success. Hope the trend continues!
The tattoo is a done deal. Tyler now has Romans 12:1 on his left arm in elfin script. He even had a coupon to save on the cost. A tattoo coupon - what next?
ReplyDeleteIt actually looks very cool, and I'm sure Ty would be glad to show anyone interested in seeing it. : )

ReplyDeleteThis might come in handy for the next time though it sounds as if Tyler got exactly wht he had in mind.
My beautiful 18 year old daughter tatooed
Love is the beauty of the soul
from mid right arm down to wrist for her 18th birthday
Patience is the attribute of a prayerful mother should be tatooed upon my forehead
Our Wildcats aren't doing so well yet either, glad I didn't have to drive to Waco. Big changes this weekend, stay tuned.
I like that forehead tattoo idea. Mothering doesn't get easier as the children get older, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteWe were wondering why the Cats could play a decent game against Louisville, and then clutch against Baylor. ??? Hope to see a different team Saturday!
