Denim Blues

Until this year, Tyler did not own a pair of jeans...didn't like them...wouldn't wear them. All that has changed now that he is in college and doesn't have to adhere to a dress code, as he did in high school. So today, I was going to the mall and offered to take Ty along to shop for some jeans. "That's okay," he said, "just get me a pair of Arizonas, same color as my other pair, boot cut, size 32 X 32." (For him to entrust me with the selection is definitely an indicator of his abhorence for shopping.) I went to J. C. Penny's and started looking at all the displays of jeans and soon realized this was not going to be an easy process. I was slightly overwhelmed with the options before me, but I found the Arizona brand section and located the right color and style...without holes. (I refuse to pay for holes inflicted by someone else.) Then I began searching for the right size. I think two-thirds of the young male population must wear size 32 X 32, because they are few and far between in any style. I was even down on my knees looking through all the piles under the display tables. At last, I found a lone pair of 32 X 32s. Mission accomplished, and without the help of any sales associates. I think this warrants some sort of mother award...at the very least a hug. : )

  1. Hi Jeannette,

Well, I was able to catch up on your last two weeks of writing. I've learned ---Tyler likes jeans and likes you to buy them, Ashlea will sparkle in the dark with her new accessory, (by the way, does she have a navel pierce), you are on a diet but how can you be when you visit the chocolate store, make banana bread and eat it with ice cream, eat 3 pounds of Russell Stover's Candy, and make BBQ Beef Brisket??? And just what is the name of your diet????? Oh yes, Joel is getting busy painting and getting ready for the campaign. Have a good weekend.

  2. I want to make it perfectly clear...I am NOT eating the 3 lbs of Russell Stover's chocolates by myself - just the dark chocolate ones! : )
