My cell phone had been randomly deleting pictures over the last couple months, so I took it to the Verizon kiosk in our mall Thursday to inquire about getting it fixed. The salesman had encountered that problem before, so he knew it was due to outdated software. Unfortunately, they couldn't help me there, and told me I would have to take it to the Saginaw store on the corner of Tittabawassee and Bay Road. I thought to myself, "Oh yeah, there is a cell phone store on that corner." So after work on Friday, I drove to the store, went in, and got my name on the waiting list. I walked around the store, casually looking at all the Alltel phones and accessories, even noticed the big Alltel sign on the back wall of the store and the Alltel emblem on the employees' shirts...I mean Alltel was everywhere...but I was clueless. After fifteen minutes and with no sign of help forthcoming, I started pacing the store. I walked to the front window to watch the traffic when my eyes took notice of the Alltel sign on the lawn, and a brain wave finally registered. I looked at my phone...Verizon. I looked across the street...Verizon. It all became very clear that I was in the wrong store, and I walked out very sheepishly. Boy, was I thankful for that fifteen minute wait that saved me the embarrassment of the technician potentially asking, "Lady, don't you even know what cell phone service you have?" For all they knew, I just got tired of waiting.
