One thing Ashlea and Tyler have always liked to do together is climb trees and rock formations. This picture is of their climb to the top of Sugar Loaf on Mackinac lsland last summer. Ashlea was obviously pumped that she made it to the top before Ty, and bare-footed no less. The gradual process began about six years ago when they attempted a short distance up the side with Ben and Aaron, then they would go a little farther each of the following years until they accomplished their goal. (This wasn't their first trip to the top.) Joel has also made the climb to the top, much to the dismay of onlookers ("Isn't he a little old to be doing that?"). I prefer to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground. Someone has to be ready to go for help, right?
