A WEEK OF EVENTS

Tyler had some friends over this afternoon for a swim party and barbecue. I don't know who is the bigger instigator, Joel or Tyler, but they were determined everyone would get wet, even those of us not wearing swimsuits. When Tyler told me this afternoon that I would regret buying the geyser gusher water toy, he wasn't joking. (I thought I raised him better than that!) The water balloon fight was intense between the guys, so most of the girls took refuge in the house. It was another absolutely gorgeous day; we were blessed with several this week, just when we needed them. On Tuesday, Community Village held its annual Strawberry Festival, so Joel and I worked in the strawberry shortcake tent, which served about 1500 desserts in three hours. Tyler spent that evening on the golf course with a couple friends. The Rescue Mission held its first annual women's golf challenge on Friday at the Germania Country Club, so I got to fritter away an afternoon enjoying the beautiful scenery of the golf course. It was quite the contrast to the day of the men's golf challenge in May. Brrrrr! We so much enjoy the Michigan summers...once they get here. The pool temperature is 85 degrees, so it's time for me to take a dip! ; )
