Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

The Lake Superior shoreline exceeded my expectations for beauty.  The colored rock formations were stunning, the water was so turquoise and clear, and the sandy beaches were pristine.  The colors in the rocks were made from mineral deposits of copper, iron, manganese, and calcium.  I'm so thankful we finally took time to discover the beauty of Michigan's upper peninsula!
